About Me

I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 19 years of experience. My training is based in psychodynamic theory and as a 500 hour yoga alliance certified instructor, I bring a mindfulness approach to my work. I have weaved in and out of the social work profession due to my childbearing years and as the mother of four children, I have learned so much about individual development and how important it is to take an individual approach to psychotherapy , as each person is uniquely different and special.

My work experience includes work in schools, college mental health, outpatient and inpatient settings, hospitals practicing medical social work and private practice. I truly believe that the most important aspect of psychotherapy is the development of the therapeutic alliance and trust in order to establish an individualized treatment plan that suits each clients needs. This includes scheduling and the duration and frequency of treatment.

Couples work invites a unique opportunity to create a joint treatment plan to help you and your partner work together towards your goals. I have practiced couples therapy in private practice and have worked with many issues. We will work to build increased empathy and communication skills to help you and your partner develop improved communication and learn conflict resolution skills. You will discover how to depend your relationship and gain greater understanding of yourself, your partner and your relationships.

Treatment is a fluid process that will be at the clients's pace and proved an opportunity for self growth and discovery. I will be honored to guide you through this process and look forward to meeting you!

Amy genuinely and authentically cares for her patients. She is smart, knowledgeable, and an intent listener. She is open and suggests exploring all methods for growth and development. We highly recommend Amy for couples or individual counseling. She is the most caring provider we have seen to date.

Amy is kind and patient, and still honest and holds you accountable. I feel she is a great balance for me personally, as well as my husband and our marriage. My husband, the “no counseling” type, is able to be open and honest with her. She’s helped us feel comfortable with marriage counseling, and has given us hope in finding our way.
She’s prompt and communicates very quickly. She’s flexible with chatting, video, phone, whatever works for us.
I’ve been active on all of these online therapy programs for a long time, and Amy is the best of the best.

Amy has blown us away. I've used BetterHelp several times before, and so am familiar with the balancing act typically involved in selecting a therapist: this person will meet weekly, but only for 30 minutes; this person will meet for 45 minute sessions, but only once a month; this person will not answer messages; this person only does chatting. AMY DOES IT ALL! And she never makes us feel rushed in our weekly sessions--she comes off genuinely invested in our happiness. I love her candor and curiosity and her incredibly respectful yet easygoing approach to therapy.

Amy is an amazing therapist. She is very easy to talk and open to talk about anything. She’s given us very helpful tools to help us in our journey. In just a very short time, she has given my husband and I lots to look forward to.
