Whatever you are going through, I'm here to help. I am Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida. Most of my counseling experience has been working with adults, teens and families, but I also worked in a Crisis Stabilization Unit and I see clients in private practice.
I know choosing to start couples counseling is a big decision and often there are a lot of strong emotions going on in your relationship. Maybe you just need a place to sort it all out, with a little help. That's where I come in – we can be a team and work on reaching your goals together.
When I work with couples* I usually use the Cognitive Behavioral approach which means I tend to focus on problem solving and bringing about positive changes in their lives by altering the way they think about things. Sometime people can get caught up in thought patterns that aren’t really helping them so changing learned thought patterns can help them change their perspective. Therapy isn’t an exact science, but more of a collaborative process, so I welcome your feedback as we move forward. Sometimes there may be exercises or activities you can both do between sessions to work on strengthening your skills or even practicing new skills we discover together. We can set goals and objective and measure how you feel you are both progressing in therapy.
I wanted to share all of this with you because I believe it’s important that you understand a little about what couples therapy looks like so you know what to expect from me. I’m excited to go on this journey with you and I can’t wait to hear from you both about the strengths and areas you would like to work on in your relationship.

I really enjoy Allison's direct approach. She cuts out the stuff that doesn't matter and gets right down to it which is totally my style. She gives me perspective in my current situation and I thoroughly appreciate that.
Allyson made me and my partner both feel heard and respected. She clearly cares about her clients and does everything she can to help.
Allyson is excellent at seeing through all my perceived issues and getting to the heart of the matter, often when I have no idea. So thankful for that and her expertise.
I think Allyson is a great facilitator. She sees the angles and allows the momentum to carry forward in a productive manner. This is unique compared to my previous counselling experiences! Thank you!!!
