About me

Hello. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience working with individuals and families. I have spent most of my career working in community mental health providing intensive outpatient therapy to adults with acute mental health and substance abuse issues. I have also enjoyed working with children and families in-home and with both active and retired military personnel. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, and complex trauma. I also have experience working with sexual assault, childhood trauma and emotional abuse. My counseling style is warm and direct. I utilize a variety of therapeutic techniques with an emphasis on Solution Focused, Psycho-dynamic, Cognitive, and Dialectic therapies, as well as Motivational Interviewing. I believe that if an individual is able to see things more clearly and accurately, they can begin to identify road blocks in their thinking and ultimately change the way they feel. I will tailor our discussions and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to seek for a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. My fiance and I had four sessions of pre-marital counseling with Allyce shortly before our wedding. The insight she had into our relationship and who we are as people within only 30 minutes of knowing us was amazing. She gave us really helpful knowledge and insight that we will take with us and use to improve our relationship moving forward into marriage. She is warm, funny, honest, and knows the sweet spot between being understanding while also challenging ideas and behaviors. We are so pleased with how our sessions went and feel even more confident moving forward, thanks to the work we did with Allyce.
