About Me

My name is Aisha Rehema-Gist Henderson. I am an Alumnus from Michigan State University (MSU). I have graduated from MSU with two Bachelors
degrees in Family Community Services and Human Biology, and a Masters degree in Social Work. I am a fully licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have six years of experience as a mental health professional. I have worked with couples from all walks of life. I have helped couples address the following concerns: domestic violence, anxiety, depression, family conflict, parenting concerns, trauma, intimacy, and communication.

My therapy style for couples is warm and interactive. The purpose of using this style is to make sure that I am catering to each of my couples' learning style. This way they are able to implement the tools provided and know that we are collaborating with one another. My therapy motto is,"Therapy is what you put into it. It should be a collective effort." I also use a client-centered where I allow my couples to guide the session, so that I gain further insight on what the couple's needs or concerns may be in their relationship. In working with couples, I have found the following techniques to be helpful: gottman theory, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychoeducation on forms of communication and boundaries ; attachment styles; structural family therapy, boundaries, and solution-focus.

Building any healthy relationship can be difficult. However, it is my belief that if a couple is willing to be open and honest about their issues, and collectively work through their struggles, it is possible for the relationship to be repaired. I look forward to assisting you and your partner through this therapeutic process.

These quotes represent just a few of the many positive reviews that we have received for Aisha Henderson. We don’t pay anyone to provide their review and they are all made voluntarily. Some people's experience receiving therapy with ReGain might be different.

We have had two sessions with Aisha so far and we can already tell a difference in our communication. She allows us to be honest and true to how we feel and does best to match how we can address our issues.

Aisha is so supportive and understanding. She has really walked us through understanding each other and finding growth together. We have appreciated all the homework too!!

Before coming to counseling, my partner and I not only had problems with communication, but also with connection and even knowing if we wanted to continue our relationship. We have been working with Ms. Henderson for a little over a month and we are already seeing the benefits of having that line of communication open. She has helped us tremendously even in just our short time coming. Feels like we’re going through the butterfly stage all over again. Would definitely recommend her to anyone having issues in their relationship.
