“My Philosophy on Mental Health and Wellness”

I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 1995, and I have been under ongoing treatment since 2010. My firsthand experience with mental illness gives me a unique perspective on mental health topics and the stigma that is associated with mental illness. I feel that it is both my obligation and my pleasure to inform others about mental health issues. I also feel that it is important for people who suffer from mental illness to recognize that they are not alone, help is available, and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Wellness can be had, with effort, understanding, and support.
